Hi! My name is Jany (short for January) and I’ve been honing my craft for over twenty years now, still learning new things every day and still carrying on my love affair with design and typography. Even though my life can be considered an ode to colors, patterns, shapes, fonts and lettering, I also have a penchant for the charm of things that are undesigned (and defiantly so). I love randomness and chaos as much as I love order and mathematics, and am intrigued by complexities that I am convinced can be solved — or at least, understood.

After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 1997, I gained valuable design experience working for Pentagram, Lee Hunt Associates, Razorfish, USA Network and Nickelodeon before I pursued freelancing, which afforded me with opportunities to work with clients big and small, from startups to established companies like Sesame Workshop, Peanuts and Comedy Central, on projects ranging from logos, branding and style guides to posters, on-air graphics and environmental spaces.

I am currently freelancing from my office in Queens, New York.
